So jealous, Jason. This is one of my dream trips! I’ve read a number of books about Antarctica, “Mountains of Madness” be my favorite.

    Wonderful photos!

Thanks! Make your dream trip a reality. It’s more than worth it. As a matter of fact, after going through my photos, I may have to book another trip!

Awesome photos Jason, especially the one illustrating the first sight of land along the Antarctic peninsula, so cool!

I have a hard time picking a favorite since I love them all, but one I have framed at home is of the penguin running along the shoreline by Arctowski Research Station. I like how the clouds melt into the mountains across the water.

The pictures from the research and whaling stations look amazing! Antarctica is the #1 place in the world I’d love to work someday, but sadly they don’t actually need a lot of archaeologists there.

After my travels, I thought about working down there. I don’t know if I could cut it, though, what with being so far away from family and all. It would be pretty amazing, though. Hopefully you can make it!

I’ve worked in some pretty remote places in Alaska and the Yukon – but I admit it does help knowing I could leave if I wanted to. It wouldn’t be that easy in Antarctica!
